Project Guidelines

Below is further information about the project, including rules and content guidelines.

Introduction:
Mirror Image: Reflect and Refract, a Miyacest Zine, is a Haikyuu!! NSFW Digital Fanzine focused on the (romantic) relationship between Miya Atsumu and Miya Osamu.This zine will feature both fanfiction and art pieces picturing and describing the twins’ relationship pre and post-timeskip. These works will and can range from explicit, sensual, and provocative to mature. Both canon-compliant and AU works will be featured as well.The zine will be split into two parts: one focused on OsaAtsu, the other focused on AtsuOsa. Buyers can purchase a single part, or get the whole zine.Theme:
The theme is simply Miyacest! We want to give our Contributors the space to explore the Miyas’ relationship from any angle or perspective they want, and to be interpreted in any form the writer or artist desires.Works featured in the OsaAtsu part of the zine should follow this specific dynamic. This also applies for works featured in the AtsuOsa part of the zine. However, the focus of both sides are the same: The twins.General Guidelines:
1) All contributors must be 18+. If a contributor is found to be a minor, they will be removed from the project immediately.2) This is a Miyacest zine, therefore, 'Dead Dove' content is allowed. However, to avoid problems with our selling platform and sticking to their strict rules, some content will be restricted (such as underage content of any kind). 'Hard' kinks, incest, dub-con/non-con, etc. will be allowed.3) All works submitted should be original pieces. Re-posts, re-works are not permitted.Plagiarism is strictly forbidden. If you are found to be plagiarising someone else's work, you will be removed from the project.

What is a zine?
A zine, or fanzine, is a collection of fanworks (art and fic) in the format of a book, similar to that of a magazine. Sometimes zines also feature merch options - either physical, digital, or both.What kind of zine is Mirror Image?
Mirror Image will be a pair of digital PDF zines. Both will feature artists and writers, with one part focusing on AtsuOsa, and the other on OsaAtsu. Parts can be purchased individually or as a pair.Both will be NSFW/R18 due to them featuring explicit content, and also due to the generally mature nature of the twins' relationship depicted in them.Can pieces for the zines feature other people besides the twins?
Yes, as long as the twins remain the main focus of the piece.Can pieces for the zines feature other ships/OT3s?
Zine pieces must feature a romantic and/or sexual relationship between the twins alone, and background ships will not be allowed. This is so that all Miyacest enthusiasts can enjoy the zines, regardless of ship preferences!Can Contributors apply for both parts of the zine?
Yes! Depending on application numbers, there may also be an overlap of Contributors if they would like to produce content for both parts.How will Contributors be compensated?
All Contributors will receive a copy of both PDFs (if they want both) and a share of profits. Merch options will be determined after the interest check period, so watch this space!How will profits be split?
Profits will be split equally between all Contributors and the Mod Team. Profits from both parts of the zine and any merch will be pooled and then divided accordingly after any production costs are taken into account.Can Contributors remain anonymous?While Contributors will still need to communicate regularly with the Mod team, they can remain anonymous publicly and have their spotlight and credit use a psudonym.How can I purchase the zine and stay anonymous?For the digital zine you can remain completely anonymous! Through BigCartel and PayPal the only information we will receive is the name and email associated with your purchasing PayPal account. Consider getting a business account (free) which allows you to use your pseudonym as your display name, but be aware this may have tax liabilities in some countries.For potential physical merch in addition to the advice above we will of course need an address to mail the items to you! Many places have PO Boxes or other pick-up points you can utilise to avoid sharing your home address. Additionally, we will do our best to use simple discreet packaging.The zine will be digital only.Any personal information will only be viewed by our Finance Mod and will remain highly confidential.Will there be any limits/restrictions on problematic content?Underage content will not be allowed. Other 'Dead Dove' tropes and themes will be accepted as long as they can be properly tagged with content warnings.Will worldwide shipping be available?Due to the pandemic and the strain/restrictions it has put on the global mailing system, we cannot guarantee that worldwide shipping will be available at time of release. However, we will try to facilitate it to the best of our ability!The zine will be digital only.Will physical merch be SFW?We will not be producing explicit merch. Suggestive content in potential prints for example will be accepted, but for the most part it will be SFW.The zine will be digital only.More TBA!

Please find below our application guidelines, content specifications, and information about compensation.

ArtistsArtist Application FormYou are welcome to apply for both page and merch artist positions, however, you will only be selected for one role.As this is a two-part zine, you may apply for both and create for both zines. This will not take up space from another potential contributor.Page Artist applications:• Artists must provide THREE completed illustrations showcasing their best work.
• Be sure to give us samples that highlight the skills you will be using for the zine, for example, if you are aiming to create a comic, include a comic in your application.Your application should provide:
• One sample featuring Atsumu and/or Osamu.
• One sample must feature a full background.
• At least one must feature full-body art.
• At least one must feature full colour/B&W shading.
•A link to a portfolio, such as a portfolio website, deviantArt, or another drive folder.No sketches or works in progress please.Merch Artist applications:• Merch artists must provide THREE completed artworks showcasing their best work.
• Be sure to give us samples that highlight the skills you will be using for the zine, for example, if you are aiming to create chibi art, include a chibi in your application.Your application should provide:
• One sample featuring Atsumu and/or Osamu.
• At least one must feature full colour/B&W shading.
• If you have any examples of merch produced in the past, that should be included.
• A link to a portfolio, such as a portfolio website, deviantArt, or another drive folder.No sketches or works in progress please.Artists will be judged on the following:
• Anatomy and posing
• Use of color and style
• Background and perspective
• Overall compositionSuccessful Applicants:Page Artists will create one of the following:• One to two single-page artworks
• One double-page spread
• One 2-4 page comicBoth digital and traditional art is welcome, traditional artworks require a high-quality 300 dpi scan.There may also be opportunities to create cover art or prints.Merch Artists will create 2 - 3 pieces of digital or physical merch.Upon successful application, your preferred merch will be discussed and allocated by the mod team.WritersWriter Application Form• Writers must provide THREE writing samples showcasing their best work. Each sample should be no longer than 1.5k words.
• Be sure to give us samples that highlight the skills you will be using for the zine, within the word count requirements.Your application should provide:• At least one sample featuring Atsumu and/or Osamu.
• At least one sample that is from a complete fic with a word count of between 1.5-5k.
• All samples must contain Haikyuu characters.
• A link to a full portfolio, e.g. your website, AO3, or a Google Drive/Dropbox folder.Samples can be from unpublished works and works in progress as long as they meet the above requirements.Writers will be judged on the following:• SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation And Grammar)
• Characterisation
• Plot
• Pacing/Flow
• Ability to write within the required word limitsSuccessful Applicants:Writers will be asked to create one piece for their preferred part(s), Reflect and/or Refract.This piece may be SFW or NSFW as long as it features a romantic/sexual relationship between Atsumu and Osamu.CompensationThis is a for-profit zine. All Mods and Contributors will receive an equal share of any profits once sales have ended, preferably paid via PayPal.Contributors will also receive a free PDF copy of both parts of the zine.
